I'm giving a brief summary of all the information that you will have access when you apply for this job.
Now I'm going to talk about my experience with Tutor.com, but if you want to go directly through the application process, please scroll down to "How to apply".
I found this opportunity to work because I was looking for a job and I was in a hurry because my girlfriend is pregnant! I'm 19 years old and I didn't have a job, I'm studying Industrial Engineering.
Anyway, I got this job because I was desperate about NOT finding any job where I could work a few hours. Most of the time I'm studying and my career is really heavy.
I started to work as a Home Tutor in February 16th. I did the application process in less than two weeks I guess. I postulated, then I received the email to continue with the program (I had to approve some tests, I did a training and an interview) to finally be accepted for the job.
I teach Algebra and Foreign Language - Spanish. Any spanish speaker is able to teach the Spanish course so take the exam of that subject (Foreign Language - Spanish) because it is a requirement. You need to approve at least 1 of the courses marked with * above. I added Algebra to so I would have more chances to work with students.
I really don't work to much. This month (March, 2015) I've worked 20 hours, and I've earned aprox. $100 dollars. If you work more, you will earn more and there are some bonus if you achieve some goals. Example: if you work 30 hours in a month, you will get a bonus of $40 dollars to your bill.
In my case (Guatemala), they pay me through MoneyGram because Bank Deposits are not available in my country. You will be notified with this information if you approve the process. So this a very good opportunity to get a job and I recommend it to you.
